The image of the cross displayed on the outside of SPCC's church building covers a figure in a shape of a diamond. Creating in its place four separate triangles. Each triangle symbolizes one of the four pillars, that represent the beliefs, values, identity, and mission of SPCC. This image serves as a reminder to both the church body and the community of the purpose of SPCC.
We acknowledge that our existence, purpose, and influence relies solely on the person of Jesus Christ. Therefore, as a church our aim is to first and foremost preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, to be a disciple of Jesus, and to imitate Christ in both word and in deed in any given situation, occasion, or context.
|
We believe in three principles of faith. The following virtues should be considered in light of the first pillar. Faith is a demonstration of where or Who we place our hope and trust in. It is something we develop and grow through prayer, Scripture reading, and congregating. It is something to be exercised and experienced.
|
We understand that God placed our church in this community for a reason. We are therefore called to love and serve our neighbors that represents our community. This is our mission field, our ground zero. We take joy in knowing that God called us to be salt and light to the neighborhoods of Belmont-Cragin and Hermosa.
|
We encourage practicing life on life with one another. Under the blessing and grace of God we become His children, and therefore enter into a familial relationship. We adopt the hermanos/hermanas mentality and believe that the family love we express to one another can draw others to the Father.

Our Beliefs
We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. The Lord Jesus Christ is both God and man and is the only one who can reconcile us to God. Each time we partake of communion we remember Jesus lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
We believe sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. In order to receive forgiveness we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ and submit to His will for our lives. God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and powerful lives in order to help others more effectively. In order to live the holy, fruitful, and power-filled lives God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water, set our mind on Him and His purpose, and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe God has individually equipped us and corporately gathered us as His living body so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives, which is to worship God, strengthen the Church, and share the Gospel with the community in which we live.
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised and will rule and reign on this earth. History will conclude as the wicked are judged and the righteous enter a new heaven and a new earth.
